German Applecake (english recipe)
One can’t have enough different recipes for apple cake, can one?
Here’s a different recipe for a German style applecake – just enjoy 🙂
Ingredients:
125 gr unsalted butter (or margerine)
125 gr sugar
1 tea spoon vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
a bit grounded lemon peel
3 eggs
200 gr plain flour
7 gr baking powder
1-2 tablespoons milk
3-5 apples
Mix the butter with the sugar, until it’s smooth and without knots. Add the salt, the vanilla sugar, the salt, and the lemon peel. Add the eggs, and mix again until you have a smooth dough.
Add the flour with the baking powder. If the dough is too thick, add a bit of milk, until you have the right texture – not too liquid, not too thick.
Peel the apples, make slices, and make small cuts into the apples.
Put the dough into the tray, press the apples into it.
Bake it at 175°C for 30-40 mins.
The cake is ready, if you can put a wooden stick into it, and no more dough is sticking to it when you pull it out again.
