Chocolate cake – Swiss Schoggitorf (english recipe)

This recipe for a chocolate cake is a real dream – it’s baked chocolate mouse 🙂


250 gr dark chocolate
75 gr unsalted butter

3 egg yolk
100 gr sugar

3 egg white
1 pinch of salt

75 gr plain flour
4 gr baking powder


Cut the chocolate in small pieces, and melt it together with the butter on low heat.

Beat the egg yolk together with the sugar to a fluffy, white mass. Add to the molten chocolate-butter mass.

Beat the egg white together with the pinch of salt, until it’s stiff. Add the stiff egg white carefully.

Finally run the flour and the baking powder through a sieve, and add that too.

Put the mass onto a tray with baking paper, and put it into the oven.

Bake at 160° Celsius for 20-25 minutes.
